>Bestiary Home
There are many dangerous foes, natural beasts and magical beings that call Khares home. Some fall into broad categories as follows:
Constructs
Constructs are inanimate objects that have been brought to life by sorcery. Constructs follow simple instructions programmed into them upon creation. They will follow these instructions literally and to the best of their ability. Constructs are unaffected by mind-affecting magic, poisons, and drugs.Jinn
The Jinn are spiritual beings native to the Unseen Realm, though many can be found in the Mortal Realm. In Khares, Jinn live in a parallel society with their own villages, cities, rulers, and customs. They may dwell in isolated areas like remote desert oases, deep forests, or within long forgotten ruins. Most Jinn mind their own business but some may interact with humanity by being malicious, mischievous or even helpful. Jinn may take the form of anything between mindless writhing semi-formed beings and noble ancient humanoid forms. Those humans who sow favor with the Jinn might be able to form alliances with them or have them grant wishes.Rabisu
The Rabisu are a clan of ignoble Jinn who have dedicated themselves to the mad ramblings of the self-proclaimed God King, The Lone Hunter, Gulhod. They are created when a jinn or human is baptised during the New Moon Ritual. Rabisu are devoted to the “might makes right” philosophy and to their belief in their own superiority. The Rabisu are constantly scheming to overthrow the protection of Atara and to subject all people to the whims of Gulhod. On nights of the New Moon, Rabisu are overwhelmed with the spirit of Gulhod, becoming bestial and irrational.Undead
Undead are remains that have been reanimated by dark forces. Some undead occur naturally when the dead are not properly sent off, but others are the creation of the foul art of Necromancy. They can often be found in ancient ruins, dark forests and forgotten battlefields, where they lurk in the shadows during the day. Undead are utterly destroyed by sunlight but are immune to mind-affecting magic.Go back to References
